The “Eiszeitland am Oderrand” geopark is mainly located in the Barnim and Uckermark districts and covers an area of 1174 km\u00b2. The ice age museum is located in Gro\u00df-Ziethen, south of the Grumsin Beech Forest. One of four circular hiking trails into the beech forest starts here. Marked by a green beech leaf, this trail<\/a>, is 7.2 kilometres long and takes about two hours. <\/p>\n

At the Ice Age Museum in the historic Gro\u00df-Ziethen steam mill, visitors can journey back to the time when glaciers shaped the Uckermark region. Models and interactive technology bring the glacial series, with its terminal moraine, ground moraine, outwash plain and glacial valley, to life While the Info Point in Altk\u00fcnkendorf focuses more on the beech forests, the geopark provides information about the formation of the area around the Grumsin Beech Forest. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

NABU Nature Experience Centre Blumberger M\u00fchle<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Blumberger M\u00fchle is a NABU Experience Centre and also the main information centre of the UNESCO Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve.<\/p>\n

There is plenty to discover in this diverse natural landscape, which features orchard meadows as a highly endangered habitat, Skudde sheep as a rare breed for nature-friendly landscape management, Mangalitza pigs and the endangered European pond turtle \u2013 there is something for everyone!<\/p>\n

The NABU Discovery Centre exhibits highlight the Grumsin Beech Forest, focusing on the interplay between forest and moorlands.<\/p>\n

A restaurant serves seasonal and organic dishes.<\/p>\n

While swimming in the Grumsin Beech Forest’s lakes is prohibited, the Wolletzsee lido offers a fun alternative. The 30,000 m\u00b2 area includes a 3-meter diving tower, modern pier, playgrounds, volleyball courts, a waterslide, boat rentals and snack stands. Lifeguards monitor the swimming area. <\/p>\n

Located near the Grumsin Beech Forest, Angerm\u00fcnde boasts a charming historic town centre. Highlights include the Franciscan Monastery Church, a prominent example of Northern German Gothic, and St. Mary’s Church, one of Brandenburg’s largest fieldstone churches, featuring the famous Joachim Wagner organ. <\/p>\n

Take a guided tour through the historic centre of Angerm\u00fcnde and discover the charms of this small market town, not far from the Buchenwald concentration camp.<\/p>\n
