The exhibition features photographs of ancient beech forests from across Europe. Many of the images were taken in various component parts of the UNESCO World Heritage site <i>Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe<\/i>. It is the largest serial UNESCO World Heritage site in the world, bringing together the last untouched primeval beech forests and nearly pristine beech forests of Europe across 18 countries.    <\/p><p>Since 2011, the Grumsin beech forest has been one of these 93 component sites.<\/p><p>The photos were produced in collaboration with the &#8220;Interreg Project BEECH POWER \u2013 World Heritage Beech Forests: Strengthening Ecosystem-Based Sustainable Development&#8221;, the &#8220;Interreg Volunteer Youth Programme&#8221;, and the &#8220;European Beech Forest Network&#8221;. Volunteer Cristina Lemmo collected these photographs of beech forests from across Europe, and Helen M\u00fcnnich, head of the Altk\u00fcnkendorf Visitor Centre, made a further selection from them. <\/p><p>The images are intended not only to showcase the beauty of these beech forest regions.
