First Major Youth Meeting on the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the European Beech Forests

In summer 2025 (August 21-30), the town of Angermünde is inviting 45 young people from six European countries to take part in a major international exchange. The participants, aged 15-17, will come together from Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine to explore the Grumsin World Heritage Forest and Jasmund National Park on the island of Rügen.
What can participants expect?
As part of an international group, the young people will gain exciting insights into the importance and protection of ancient beech forests. The program includes:
- Exploring the Grumsin World Heritage Forest near Angermünde and its surroundings.
- Interactive workshops on nature conservation, sustainability and the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Cultural exchange in which participants gain insights into the diversity of the countries represented.
- Joint activities in the Jasmund National Park on Rügen, another UNESCO World Heritage Site with impressive beech forests.
- International community: Living together with young people from different countries creates unique experiences and promotes intercultural dialog.

Would you like to be a Junior Teamer?
You can apply to become a Junior Teamer if you
- are older than 15 years old,
- already have some experience in leading groups,
- have already gotten to know the World Heritage Site,
- would like to accompany and support the group of Angermünde participants,
- would like to gain experience in an international team with group leaders from other countries
During your assignment as a Junior Teamer
- you will be accompanied by experienced adult group leaders,
- we provide an expense allowance of €300.
