Geopark Center Groß-Ziethen
The “Eiszeitland am Oderrand” geopark is mainly located in the Barnim and Uckermark districts and covers an area of 1174 km². The ice age museum is located in Groß-Ziethen, south of the Grumsin Beech Forest. One of four circular hiking trails into the beech forest starts here. Marked by a green beech leaf, this trail, is 7.2 kilometres long and takes about two hours.
At the Ice Age Museum in the historic Groß-Ziethen steam mill, visitors can journey back to the time when glaciers shaped the Uckermark region. Models and interactive technology bring the glacial series, with its terminal moraine, ground moraine, outwash plain and glacial valley, to life While the Info Point in Altkünkendorf focuses more on the beech forests, the geopark provides information about the formation of the area around the Grumsin Beech Forest.

NABU Nature Experience Centre Blumberger Mühle
The Blumberger Mühle is a NABU Experience Centre and also the main information centre of the UNESCO Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve.
There is plenty to discover in this diverse natural landscape, which features orchard meadows as a highly endangered habitat, Skudde sheep as a rare breed for nature-friendly landscape management, Mangalitza pigs and the endangered European pond turtle – there is something for everyone!
The NABU Discovery Centre exhibits highlight the Grumsin Beech Forest, focusing on the interplay between forest and moorlands.
A restaurant serves seasonal and organic dishes.

Wolletzsee lido
While swimming in the Grumsin Beech Forest’s lakes is prohibited, the Wolletzsee lido offers a fun alternative. The 30,000 m² area includes a 3-meter diving tower, modern pier, playgrounds, volleyball courts, a waterslide, boat rentals and snack stands. Lifeguards monitor the swimming area.

Angermünde historic town centre
Located near the Grumsin Beech Forest, Angermünde boasts a charming historic town centre. Highlights include the Franciscan Monastery Church, a prominent example of Northern German Gothic, and St. Mary’s Church, one of Brandenburg’s largest fieldstone churches, featuring the famous Joachim Wagner organ.
Take a guided tour through the historic centre of Angermünde and discover the charms of this small market town, not far from the Buchenwald concentration camp.

Angermünde Museum in the Haus Uckermark
The Angermünde Museum offers a rich collection of regional history and archaeology. Visitors can also learn about author Ehm Welk, known for his work “Die Heiden von Kummerow” (The Heathens of Kummerow). Other prominent literary and historical figures can also be discovered here.

Hemme Milch dairy and farm shop
After a hike, relax with coffee and cake at Hemme Milch’s farm shop. The farm shop is erreichbar by public transport from Altkünkendorf and by the World Heritage bus from Angermünde train station. The farm not only offers local and regional products, but also features a playground, a nature trail and opportunities to see cows up close.

Louisenhof Gallery and Studio orangenen Rundwanderwegs. The large barn, which features an art gallery with artworks and workshops, offers coffee and cake for hikers on weekends.

Grumsin Distillery
Situated in Altkünkendorf, the Grumsiner Distillery produces spirits from heirloom grains, including whiskey, liqueurs and gin. The distillery offers tours that combine heritage walks through the Grumsin Beech Forest with tastings and insights into the production of fine spirits.
