Swimming in the region
It’s not just the trees that need water in summer. Especially on hot days, people also love a dip in cool water, also during a hike in the Grumsin Beech Forest. While the forest is home to five beautiful lakes, perfect for gazing at, please note that swimming is strictly prohibited within the World Heritage site.
The lido at Wolletzsee is more suitable for this. It is about an hour’s walk from the Louisenhof gallery and studio, or seven minutes by bus (from Altkünkendorf Mitte with the 452 to Angermünde, Gehegemühle), and nine minutes by car from the information point in Altkünkendorf. Here you can stock up on chilled drinks and food.
